avisec Construction Crane Camera: Overlay your site plans on real images for quality control

Daily geo-referenced orthophotos from the crane arm. Accurate up to 1–3 cm. So, deviations are visible the same day they occur, before they become expensive to fix. No pilot, no flight permit or site shutdown necessary.

The deviation you miss today will cost ten times more next month

Construction defects caught early are cheap to correct. The same defect discovered during finishing or after handover is a legal and financial problem.

The challenge is visibility. Site managers cannot be everywhere. Planners work from drawings, not from what is actually being built. By the time a deviation is spotted in a weekly walkthrough, concrete has already been poured over it.

Most sites document with sporadic drone surveys, manual photographs, or nothing at all. Gaps in the record become gaps in liability coverage. Disputes over damages go unresolved because no one can prove what the site looked like on a specific day.

The avisec Crane Camera closes that gap. Automatically.

Daily as-built documentation available within hours

With the avisec Construction Crane Camera, every working day ends with a verified record of what was actually built. Open the Cloud Cockpit and today’s geo-referenced orthophoto is waiting: accurate to 1–3 cm, overlaid against your plan drawings, ready to measure. Deviations show up before the next cement-pour. Damage disputes are resolved with evidence, not competing memories.

No manual survey. No drone operator to schedule. No interruption to site operations.

How the avisec Crane Camera works

Here is what happens between the crane arm and your Cloud Cockpit dashboard:

  1. Image Capture
Two cameras are fixed to the crane arm at project start. The rugged Swiss-made housings (25 × 15 × 16 cm) require only a power connection. Images are captured automatically at defined intervals and transmitted securely to the avisec data centre.
  2. Photgrammetic processing
Dozens of overlapping images are processed automatically using photogrammetric algorithms. AI-assisted validation removes outliers and optimises geometry. The result: a geo-referenced orthophoto and a measurable 3D point cloud, accurate to 1–3 cm per point.
  3. Measure & Export
Within hours of capture, the orthophoto and point cloud are available in the password-protected avisec Cloud Cockpit. Measure distances, check flatness, overlay plan drawings, or export as DXF for your BIM model. Share access with planners, contractors, and clients individually.

API allows integration into your known work-environment

Finally, planners and site managers work from the same verified data. What was drawn and what was built can be compared in a single view — without phone calls, without site visits, without version confusion.

The avisec Cloud Cockpit API allows integration into existing project management environments. If your workflow already runs in a BIM platform, avisec data can feed directly into it.

Point clouds and orthophotos export directly from the Cloud Cockpit into the formats your software expects. Compatible with Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and any system that reads DXF or standard point cloud formats.

Flatness control: inspect every slab and surface in seconds

Every orthophoto automatically generates a digital elevation model. The Cloud Cockpit compares height differences across the surface and displays them as a colour-coded heatmap, down to centimetre level.

Set your own tolerance values. Areas within spec appear green. Deviations outside tolerance appear in amber or red. The complete heatmap can be exported as a DXF file for your surveyor or structural engineer.

Compare heatmaps across multiple days to visualise construction progress directly. Concrete pours, fill levels, and structural elements are immediately visible in the time-series view.

Better than drones or manual photography

Drones are useful before a crane is on site. Once construction is active, they face real constraints: restricted airspace over urban sites, no-fly conditions in wind and rain, pilot scheduling delays, and legal requirements for operations above people.

The avisec Crane Camera operates continuously regardless of weather, wind, or activity level. No permit. No pilot. No site shutdown. Data is captured every working day from the same vantage point — giving you a consistent, comparable record that a drone survey taken once a month cannot match.

Site managers who use both describe the same pattern: the crane camera handles daily documentation; drones are reserved for pre-construction surveys and final handover fly-overs. Together they cover the full project lifecycle.

avisec Cloud Cockpit: See clearly at a glance and measure in live images

Open the Cloud Cockpit and today’s orthophoto is waiting. Draw a measurement line directly into the image. Run a flatness heatmap on the latest slab pour. Overlay the as-built against the plan and mark deviations for the site team.

Manage all your active sites in one dashboard. Assign role-based access, so that planners, contractors, and clients each see only what they need. Export point clouds as DXF for BIM integration or download the heatmap for your surveyor.

Built for professionals who manage multiple projects simultaneously. No separate software. No manual file transfers.
